Terms and Conditions

Since the true condition of certain specimens is not known until processing has been started, all taxidermy and tanning services are at customers’ own risk.*

*Explained: Some animals can produce a range of issues like fur slippage (fur falling out), bone degradation, etc. due to variables such as, but not limited to:

  • Not being frozen/turned over to taxidermist in time from moment of passing (usually within 1-2 days)

  • Containing certain sicknesses/internal biomes

    These are rare occurrences, but must be stressed. Client should only carry on with wanting preservation if they are comfortable knowing this. Should client’s specimen experience any of these during processing, they will be notified immediately and only charged a preparation fee. Of Fur and Feather is not responsible for any of these occurrences.

For soft tans, hides are sent out to be tanned. There is a very low, yet possible outcome of smaller items (rodent, rabbit, cat) getting lost at the tannery. Should this occur, client will only be charged a preparation fee ($50). Of Fur and Feather is not responsible for lost items sent to the tannery. Please also note that a few small holes made in the hide are common during the tanning process, but usually cannot be seen from the fur side of the hide. Please only proceed with soft tanning if you are comfortable knowing this information.

Please, please refrain from requesting any updates on your pet if you can help it. The yearn of wanting a loved one back home where they belong is completely understood, but please know that this work is mentally and emotionally labor intensive. With that being said, should you have any questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to reach out anytime. I truly have the utmost respect for each and every animal and their owner, and I feel honored to get to take part in this kind of work. I do my absolute best to stay within the given estimated completion time, and should it take longer than expected, you are welcome to reach out.

Breakdown of pricing is given prior to services and due within 30 days of notified completion unless otherwise discussed. Items not paid for within 30 days of being notified, or picked up within 90 days after completion, are subject to sale - unless otherwise discussed. Payment plans are available!
